Referral FAQs and terms
Everything important about valid referrals, payment and transparency.
What is the referral fee?
The referral fee is 10% of the website project fee, excluding VAT, hosting, domains, third party tools, software subscriptions, advertising spend and ongoing support unless agreed separately in writing.
When is the referral fee paid?
The referral fee is paid once the referred client has accepted the project, the website has been deployed, GXUX has invoiced the client, and the client invoice has been paid in full.
What counts as a valid referral?
A valid referral is a warm introduction to a business owner, decision maker or relevant contact who is open to discussing a website refresh. The business must be new to GXUX, not already in discussion with GXUX, and not already identified as an active lead.
Does sending a random website count?
No. Sending a website you have found online does not count as a referral unless you can also make a genuine introduction to someone at the business who is expecting or open to the conversation.
Can I refer someone I work with?
Only if it is transparent and does not breach any employer, client or supplier policy. If receiving a referral fee could create a conflict of interest, you must disclose this before any referral fee is agreed.
Can employees refer their own company?
Only where it is transparent and appropriate. GXUX will not pay hidden referral fees where the payment could create a conflict of interest or where the business should reasonably know about it.
Does the referral fee apply to future work?
No. The referral fee applies to the first website project only. It does not apply to future work, retainers, hosting, support, maintenance or additional projects unless GXUX agrees this separately in writing.
What if more than one person refers the same business?
GXUX will decide which referral is valid based on the first clear warm introduction received and accepted.
What happens if the client does not go ahead?
No referral fee is payable if the client does not proceed, cancels the project, does not pay, or the project is refunded.
Do I need to send an invoice?
Businesses and VAT registered referrers may need to provide an invoice. Individuals may be paid by bank transfer using a simple referral payment record. The referrer is responsible for any tax, VAT, National Insurance or reporting obligations that may apply.
Can I post about GXUX publicly?
Yes, but if you are promoting GXUX because you may receive a referral fee, make that relationship clear. Keep it honest and do not make promises, pricing commitments or guarantees on behalf of GXUX.
Can I send cold messages for GXUX?
No. The referral programme is for warm introductions only. Do not send spam, bulk messages, scraped lists or misleading claims.
