GXUX Referral Programme

Know a small business that needs a better website?

If you know a small UK business with a website that feels tired, slow, hard to update or no longer reflects the quality of what they do, you can introduce them to GXUX.

If they go ahead with a website refresh and the new site is deployed, you’ll receive 10% of the website project fee once the client invoice has been paid.

Clear and straight forward

Simple referral payment

The referral fee is 10% of the website project fee.

Calculated on the website project fee excluding VAT, hosting, domains, third party tools, software subscriptions, advertising spend and ongoing support.

Website refresh project fee£1,500
Referral payment£150

10% paid after deployment and full client payment

A practical distinction

What counts as a good referral?

A good referral is a warm introduction to someone who is likely to welcome the conversation.

Good referral

“I’d like to introduce you to Sarah from Example Interiors. She mentioned they want to improve their website this year.”
“John runs a local plumbing business and said their website is out of date. I’ve told him about GXUX and he’s happy for me to introduce you.”
“My accountant works with several small businesses. One of them is actively looking for a simpler website refresh.”

Not a referral

“I found this website online. Maybe contact them.”
“This company has a bad website but I don’t know them.”
“Here is a list of businesses I scraped from Google.”
“Try messaging this company. I have not spoken to them.”

From introduction to payment

How the referral programme works

GXUX handles the website conversation and project directly. You only need to make the introduction.

  1. 01

    Make a warm introduction

Introduce GXUX to the business owner or decision maker by email, WhatsApp or LinkedIn.

  2. 02

    GXUX speaks to the business

Graham reviews the current website, discusses what needs improving and agrees the scope directly with the business.

  3. 03

    The website is refreshed

GXUX creates the agreed website refresh and gets it live.

  4. 04

    You receive 10%

Once the website is deployed and the client invoice has been paid in full, your referral payment is made by bank transfer.

People who know small businesses

Who should refer businesses?

The programme is useful for people who regularly speak to small business owners and can make genuine introductions.

  • Accountants and bookkeepers
  • Local business owners
  • Freelancers and consultants
  • Photographers and videographers
  • Printers and signage companies
  • Marketing and social media people
  • Friends, clients and former colleagues

You do not need to sell GXUX. A simple warm introduction is enough.

Clear answers, fair terms

Referral FAQs and terms

Everything important about valid referrals, payment and transparency.

What is the referral fee?

The referral fee is 10% of the website project fee, excluding VAT, hosting, domains, third party tools, software subscriptions, advertising spend and ongoing support unless agreed separately in writing.

When is the referral fee paid?

The referral fee is paid once the referred client has accepted the project, the website has been deployed, GXUX has invoiced the client, and the client invoice has been paid in full.

What counts as a valid referral?

A valid referral is a warm introduction to a business owner, decision maker or relevant contact who is open to discussing a website refresh. The business must be new to GXUX, not already in discussion with GXUX, and not already identified as an active lead.

Does sending a random website count?

No. Sending a website you have found online does not count as a referral unless you can also make a genuine introduction to someone at the business who is expecting or open to the conversation.

Can I refer someone I work with?

Only if it is transparent and does not breach any employer, client or supplier policy. If receiving a referral fee could create a conflict of interest, you must disclose this before any referral fee is agreed.

Can employees refer their own company?

Only where it is transparent and appropriate. GXUX will not pay hidden referral fees where the payment could create a conflict of interest or where the business should reasonably know about it.

Does the referral fee apply to future work?

No. The referral fee applies to the first website project only. It does not apply to future work, retainers, hosting, support, maintenance or additional projects unless GXUX agrees this separately in writing.

What if more than one person refers the same business?

GXUX will decide which referral is valid based on the first clear warm introduction received and accepted.

What happens if the client does not go ahead?

No referral fee is payable if the client does not proceed, cancels the project, does not pay, or the project is refunded.

Do I need to send an invoice?

Businesses and VAT registered referrers may need to provide an invoice. Individuals may be paid by bank transfer using a simple referral payment record. The referrer is responsible for any tax, VAT, National Insurance or reporting obligations that may apply.

Can I post about GXUX publicly?

Yes, but if you are promoting GXUX because you may receive a referral fee, make that relationship clear. Keep it honest and do not make promises, pricing commitments or guarantees on behalf of GXUX.

Can I send cold messages for GXUX?

No. The referral programme is for warm introductions only. Do not send spam, bulk messages, scraped lists or misleading claims.

Make the conversation easy

What to include in the introduction

The most useful introductions include a little context so the conversation starts naturally.

  • Business name
  • Website address
  • Contact name
  • How you know them
  • Why the website may need improving
  • Whether they are expecting the introduction
